This was certainly a wild week for me. My son was born 30 minutes before kickoff and to say the least I did not get to watch much early football. Still, my teams performed well and up to a last catch on Monday night I was set to go 5-1. My podcast mate RC Rizza defeated me in his expert league, The Fantasy Site Drunken Pirate Expert League by .7 points, making that three losses in that leagues with a total of 2.2 points. Good thing I already have a playoff spot in the league. I also was without Adrian Peterson and I lost Fred Jackson for the season.
In the 2011 FFS Expert League, I posted my 5th win in 6 games. I currently hold the 7th seed for a playoff position and a win and I’m in and even with a lost I’m likely in the playoffs. I pounded RC Rizza with a huge win, 162-127. I did it mainly on the hands of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. My running backs Chris Johnson, DeMarco Murray, and Jonathan Stewart added 48 points to the win.
I took another hard loss in my home league. I dropped to 7-5 in the Vegas Vs Texas League 12 and will be fighting for a playoff spot next week, the final week of the regular season. I lost to The GOAT Jr. 161-129. I’ve been without key players for most of the second half of the season. This week I did not have Miles Austin and Ahmad Bradshaw, both I hope to have back for next weeks big game. I also couldn’t use either of my defenses (Detroit and Philadelphia), so I pulled out Oakland for a strong 20 point performance.
In the Blog Talk Radio FF League, pushed my record up to 11-1 with a 192-135 win over the Retro Kid. Again, Victor Cruz played a large role in this win, along with strong performances from Drew Brees, Wes Welker, Laurent Robinson, and Lance Moore. I can’t wait for the playoffs. My team has the best record in the league and most points be far and I’m looking at the title in this league as my team has been unstoppable.
In the Blog Talk Radio II FF League, I also won, upping my record to 10-2. I defeated playoff bound Sandy’s Raiders 172-129. Victor Cruz and Beanie Wells put up 66 points leading me towards the big win. A side note in this league, A Bunch of Mini Ditkas finally lost and fell to 11-1 on the season. The lost of Fred Jackson was devastating to his team, but his team is still one of the best.
The latest playoff spot I clinched this week was in the RotoExperts MIC Wars League. I beat RotoInfo.com 176-110 in a tight contest that came down to Monday night. I had Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, and Marques Colston to go and was down by 6 points. Together, they put up 87 points for the route. I not only clinched the first and only playoff spot in the league, but I hold the #1 seed in the league and with a win next week I will get the BYE in the first round of the playoffs.
I’ve clinched playoff spots in four of my six leagues. The two leagues I still haven’t clinched in, I hold spots, but I need wins or some help if I don’t win to make the playoffs.
