Is Cam Newton The Real Deal? Week 2 Prospects

Let me just say wow on the Cam Newton question.  He surprised everyone with a 3 TD, 400+ yard day.  Being that he was on the road and it was his first NFL start, nobody expected much.  We were all wrong.  Across the boards, Newton was one of the hottest pickups on waivers in fantasy leagues, but before you go slotting him in as your QB note these FacTodds (Get it factoids?):

1. It was week 1 and teams have 4 weeks to prepare for that game, so numbers are often skewed both ways.
2. He was facing Arizona week 1.  They have an atrocious defense.
3. Week 2 he will be at home (very nice), but against a harden veteran Green Bay Packers defense with fast linebackers.
4. He will likely fall behine early and the game will go one-dimensional. 

I would not start Cam Newton week 2 unless you absolutely had too.  It’s a tough match up and it could be a 175 yard 3 INT kind of day.  Even if he gets garbage points, it could be ugly.
